Jones & Young are Independent Mortgage Lenders based in Petersfield, Hampshire covering the whole of the UK.
Mark Jones and Richard Young met at a local networking group and quickly realised that collaboration, rather than competition was key. The joining of forces meant that they could share knowledge and expertise and make sure more clients received the outcomes they deserved.
Mark Jones
Mark co-founded Jones & Young and serves as one of its directors.
He is a mortgage specialist with particular expertise in helping self-employed clients, including those working under the CIS (Construction Industry Scheme). He regularly works with contractors and business owners to use CIS statements as payslips and assess net profit rather than just salary and dividends. This allows clients to stay tax-efficient while still accessing the mortgage they need.
Based in Bishop’s Waltham, Mark lives with his wife and young daughter, and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family. He’s known for his friendly, down-to-earth approach and takes pride in making the mortgage process as straightforward and stress-free as possible.

Richard Young
Richard is a co-founder and director of Jones & Young, lending his name and expertise to the business.
He specialises in more complex areas of lending, including portfolio landlord mortgages, unusual buy-to-let cases, bridging finance, commercial lending, and later life mortgage solutions.
With a deep understanding of these niche markets, he supports clients who need tailored advice and strategic guidance.
Based in Petersfield, Richard lives with his wife, son and daughter. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, running, and playing golf. He regularly plays a round with his father, who also had a long career in financial services.
